Re: 1974 Ted Williams 7.5HP Carb/Fuel Issues - Help requested Weight of a replacement motor is an issue since my Dad is 72 years old and can't lug anything more then 50 lbs to and from the boats we rent. ![]() I don't mind paying a couple of bucks for replacement parts, and out of sentimental value, would like to fix this engine rather then buy a new 5-6 HP 4 stroke or used 2 stroke. The motor gets used for 1 week out of the year and lives inside during the winter. Would this be a needle/seat issue, or do these engines have a fuel pump to pull fuel from the remote tank? It's definately a fuel related issue, and before I dig into this to make the needed repairs, where do you all recommend I start? Spark and everything else is good.Īdditionally, besides some of the misc parts sears still has on hand, where is the best place to source the fuel related repair parts? Carb kits, etc. Once I stop pumping the bulb, it will die. It has given us zero issues since new until this year with zero maintenance other then changing the spark plug.Ĭurrently I can get the motor started but will only stay running if I pump the primer bulb on the fuel tank. My father is the original owner of a 1974 Ted Williams 7.5HP motor. ![]()
